Sadhak respects your privacy. This policy describes how we collect, use, and protect your information — and the choices you have.
Information we collect
- Account information (email, display name) when you register.
- Profile data (gender, marriage status) you provide, used only for personalization.
- Birth details (date, time, and place of birth) — only if you choose to use the Jyotish (astrology) feature. These are used to compute your Vedic birth chart and personalised guidance, and are stored privately in your own account so they sync across your devices.
- Approximate location (city / state) for accurate Panchang calculations.
- Basic app-usage data (which features you open, counts such as japa totals) to improve the app and, in aggregated form, for the developer's own product research. We never sell it.
How we use your information
- Personalize grooming guidance based on your gender and marriage status.
- Compute your Vedic birth chart, dashas and astrology guidance from the birth details you provide (only if you use the Jyotish feature). Astrological interpretations are offered as reflective guidance, not guaranteed predictions.
- Calculate accurate Panchang, sunrise, sunset and Rahu Kaal for your location.
- Send spiritual reminders and festival notifications (only if enabled).
- Display your profile in community chat, if you choose to enable it.
Data storage & security
- Data is stored securely with Google Firebase (Firestore & Realtime Database).
- Profile images are stored via Cloudinary over encrypted transfer.
- We use industry-standard encryption for all data in transit.
- We never sell, trade, or rent your personal information to anyone.
Third-party services
- Google Firebase — authentication, database, and analytics.
- Cloudinary — image hosting.
- Expo Notifications — push-notification delivery.
- We do not use any advertising SDKs or trackers.
Location data
- Location is used only for Panchang calculations (sunrise, sunset, Rahu Kaal).
- We store only city and state — never precise GPS coordinates.
- Location access is optional; the app works without it.
Your rights
- Delete your account and all associated data anytime from Settings.
- Use the app as a Guest without providing any personal information.
- Disable notifications at any time.
- Request a copy of your data by emailing us.
- Control community visibility and direct messages from your Profile.
Children's privacy
- Sadhak is suitable for all ages and contains only spiritual / educational content.
- We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.
- Parents or guardians may contact us to delete a child's data.
